Up For Three Days
I am thrilled to present this collection titled “Up for Three Days”. I have titled the show according to the time frame. Continuing with my love of Vancouver and its ever expanding development, my eye has been cast upwards as well as beyond Vancouver. Last year, when I was painting with Legendary Photographer Jock McDonald for our “Native Sons” show, I came across painting my skies like Emily Carr. This now dictates the date and time for my paintings. Dramatic and whimsical and delivered with potent effect. From here, I have painted over head visions of the BC Ferries and expanded to the Gulf Islands and even Victoria. Each painting has my signature humoured expression. I recently read that the Dairy Queen in Vancouver on Hastings street was the Original design as well as the sign. I went over, bought a Buster Bar and photographed and painted it for this collection. Its been an interesting journey with this collection. Please, enjoy.
