![]() "Myrrh For the Modern Man" By Guy Babineau Georgia Straight, Dec 2004 John Ferrie Yo-yo's. During the recent East Side Culture Crawl, I visited the home and studio of artist John Ferrie, who was presenting his new "Luminaries" exhibition of paintings based on the annual Illuminaries lantern parade. His playful collection of bright hand-painted Yo-yo's ($20.00) mirrors the shows theme. I couldn't resist. For the rest of the evening, I tried to recapture a time long ago when I could walk the dog, rock the cradle and go over the waterfall like a pro. It made a great conversation piece. People approached me all night long. This is a trend waiting to happen. An ipod, a pair of oakleys's, your John Ferrie Yo-yo, and you're all set. To purchase, contact John Ferrie at 604-215-0012.
